Our goal is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Durham Region. We work collaboratively with our community partners in promoting and facilitating the development of a skilled, relevant, inclusive and adaptive labour force. The overriding goal is to help create skills in the community which local business and individuals can translate into jobs.

The key activities of our mandate are to:

work to improve the availability of labour market information;

establish a planning framework for training and adjustment programs and services;

provide analysis, advice and recommendations regarding these programs and services;

encourage and promote the value of life-long learning;

promote equity in and access to local training and adjustment programs;

Products & Services: Labour force statistics, studies, skilled trades programs, School to work transitional programs.

Energy Opportunities: skilled labour information and training
